ITINERARY FOR PORTUGAL



  • Miami - Lisbon

    Day 1 - Thursday

    Flight from Miami to Lisbon.
    We gather at Miami intl Airport to travel directly to Lisbon Portugal. (TAP) This trip takes almost 9 hours plus the 5 hour difference from timezones, which means we will get there at the early beginning of the next day.

    Knights Templar HQ

    Day 2 - Friday

    - Arrival at Lisbon
    - Transfer to Tomar to the Templars Hotel
    - Meeting at the hotel for refreshments, a generic orientation about the trip and, to set up phone cards
    - Visit to the Convent of Christ - the head quarters of the Knights Templar in the Iberian Peninsula for 700 years.
    - Lunch
    - Hotel check-In at 3:00 PM
    - Time to rest a bit
    - Visit to the Tomar aqueduct
    - Dinner and Hotel

    Gothic Monastery and a Love Story

    Day 3 - Saturday

    - Breakfast and departure for The Batalha Monastery one of Gothic's prime examples
    - After lunch we head to the Monastery of Alcobaça to fall in love with the story of Peter and Agnes
    - We then head to the beach side where some of the biggest waves in the world form, to visit the Nazaré's beach
    - We'll have lunch at a local restaurant by the beach
    - We will then drive to Porto-de-Mós on our way to the hotel, to visit a beautifully recovered castle
    - If we still have time, we will be stopping in Ourém to visit it's beautiful Castle full of story
    - We'll have dinner and get back to the hotel for a deserved rest.

    Ancient University and Wine Tasting

    Day 4 - Sunday

    - After Breakfast we'll head to the Penela Vilage to visit a castle standing for 1000 years at the top of an impressive rock
    - After that we head to Coimbra, a beautiful city with a rich history and, one of the oldest Universities in the world still active
    - In Coimbra we will take a tourist train-car tour around this old city
    - Then we head to Vendas de Maria for a Wine, cheese and meats tasting event that will last the afternoon
    - We'll head back to the hotel for a deserved rest after this very exciting day
    We are sure everyone will be full with the delicious cheese, apetizers and wine served in the afternoon, therefore we will not have dinner this evening

    Castle in the River and Photoshoot

    Day 5 - Monday

    - We will depart from the hotel at 9:30 after breakfast
    - Arriving to Almourol Castle, we'll have a boat ride across the river to the castle and visit
    - After that we'll have a magnificient lunch at restaurante Almourol
    - Then, we'll head to Castelo de Torres Novas for a fun photoshoot so you can remember this day forever
    - Then we'll have some free time to go shopping at a shopping center until we are ready for dinner
    - We'll head to the dining location for an amazing meal
    - And we'll return to the hotel for a deserved rest after another day filled with adventures

    A King's Palace and Thermal Baths

    Day 6 - Tuesday

    - After breakfast we'll leave Tomar behind at 8:30 for for the Bussaco Park (around 1 hour trip)
    - We'll head to the "Luso Thermal Waters Spa" for a relaxing immersion in these therapeutic watersgranting medicinal benefits for centuries
    - After that we'll have an exquisite lunch at a nearby restaurant
    - Then we'll go to the hotel, check-in and relax
    - In the middle of the afternoon we'll walk around the "Forest of Bussaco" or have a guided bus tour around the forest
    - Later we'll have Dinner
    - We'll return to the Hotel for a good night's sleep in preparation for a trip to the capital, Lisbon.

    The Capital and a River Cruise

    Day 7 - Wednesday

    - After breakfast we depart for Lisbon at 8:30. The trip takes around 2:30 hours)
    - We will head to Alcantara for a boat cruise on the Tagus river (cruise lasts around 1 hour) - Boat Tours
    - After that we'll have lunch at a special restaurant called "Mercado"
    - Then we'll head to Torre de Belém which we'll visit inside
    - After that we'll visit the Museu dos Coches and we'll enjoy some of the world famous Portuguese cream custards called Pastéis de Belém
    - After that we'll head to the hotel for our check-in
    - We'll reunite a little later for a fantastic dinner
    - Then we'll return to hotel for a good sound rest.
    - For the ones brave enough to try Lisbon's night life, we'll have a complimentary Night Program: Docas de Alcantara (optional)

    Scenic Views and a Lighthouse in a Mighty Landscape

    Day 8 - Thursday

    - After breakfast we leave for the castle of Palmela. - After visiting the castle we'll have lunch in the city of Setúbal
    - After lunch we'll go through Arrábida and stop for a scenic view
    - We'll then head to Cabo Espichel and visit the amazing landscape where land ends and the infinite waters strech to the coasts of the US
    - We'll go back to the hotel through Ponte Vasco da Gama
    - We'll have dinner at a very famous steakhouse called Chimarrao
    - For the ones who are still willing to spend accumulated energy, we'll have a complimentary Night Program: Bairro Alto (optional)

    Oceanarium and a Rival Versailles Palace

    Day 9 - Friday

    - After breakfast we leave for Lisbon downtown at 8:30
    - We'll be able to buy artisan goods and have a famous tart-cherry drink called Ginginha
    - Then we'll head back to be in time for a visit to one of the most well renowned aquariums in Europe - The Oceanario
    - We'll then have a very tasty lunch
    - After lunch we'll travel to Palácio de Queluz and visit (1hr)
    - We'll then head back to the hotel to start preparing for our departure to the US the next day
    - We will have our farewell dinner at Steakhouse restaurant an we'll head back to the hotel

    Say Goodbye to Portugal

    Day 10 - Saturday

    - After breakfast we'll head to the airport and fly to Miami where this trip ends but most likely it will be the beginning of your next adventures.
